가정교회는 신약 교회의 회복을 목표로 한다.
가정교회는 예배 의식 중심의 수동적인 신앙생활과, 가르쳐서만 제자를 만들려는 성경공부 중심의 제자 훈련에서 탈피하여,불신자에게전도하여 예수님을 주님으로 영접케 하고, 섬김의 삶을 보여줌으로서제자를 만들어 내어 ‘영혼구원하여 제자 만드는’ 교회 본연의 목적에충실한다.
정의: “평신도가 지도자가 되어, 가정집에서 6~12명이, 매주 한번 이상씩 모이는 교회의 본질적인 기능(예배, 교육, 교제, 전도와 선교)을다하는 공동체”
가정교회에 관해 다음과 같은 이해도 허용한다. “신약교회의 원형을 회복하기 위하여, 평신도가 지도자가 되어, 가정집에서, 6~12명이, 매주 한 번 이상 모이는, 교회의 본질적인 기능(예배와 교육, 교제와 봉사,전도와 선교)을 다하는 기초 공동체인 목장으로 이루어진 지역교회”
가정 교회는 성경적으로 교회 사역을 분담하여(엡4:11~12) 담임목사는 교회 전체를 이끌어가는 리더십을 발휘하고, 말씀과 기도에 전념하며,평신도들을 훈련시켜 이들로 하여금 전도, 심방, 상담을 비롯한 목양사역을 감당케 하고, 교회 봉사 활동을 통하여 교회를 세워가도록 한다.
평신도 사역자는 가정교회에서의 섬김을 통해 목회자가 경험하는 사역의 열매와 어려움 등을 체험함으로써 목회자의 심정을 이해하는진정한 동역자 의식을 갖게 된다.
솔직한 삶의 나눔을 통한 구체적인 기도응답을 통하여 하나님을 경험하고, 삶이 변화되어지며, 배우고 익힌 말씀을 실습할 수 있는현장을 제공함으로써 신앙고백에 합당한 삶을 사는 확실한 제자를만들어낸다.
The House Church model divides the tasks of the local church in accordance with biblical principals (Ephesians 4:11~12) The model ordains a head pastor as an overseer of the whole faith community.
The head pastor focuses on preaching, praying and training laymen to carry out the tasks or witnessing, visitation, and counseling. The laymen carry out these House Church tasks along with other church ministry activities in the church.
The goal is to build an effective faith community. By sharing honest prayer requests and by experiencing the grace of GOd. The layman gains understanding and becomes a partner with the head pastor by experiencing the pastor’s tasks through the successes and the adversities of serving the House Church members. Through answered prayers, the House Church members experience the living God and live transformed lives.
The House Church calls for and provides an environment to nurture members as they learn to practice scripturally based living and in doing so, members become true Disciples of Christ.
